Lost & found album

£23.00

These hand-bound concertina books are made of dark grey handmade cotton rag paper. They are folded to make up 22 pages, plus a pocket sewn using tone-on-tone grey linen thread and joining the original pieces of paper.

They have black hard covers and vintage-style labels with the heading ‘lost & found’ written in pointed pen calligraphy using Black sumi ink. The black silk ribbon ties can be wrapped around the book to secure it shut.

Dimensions

100mm x 100mm

The story

These albums are inspired by the idea of collecting photographs, newspaper cuttings, ephemera, and gathering them into a story, whether your own, or something imagined. Think flicking through vintage photos at an antiques stall, finding an old train ticket in a second-hand book, or, as in the film Amélie, making an album of discarded photo booth snaps. Simple items, lost and found, curated and treasured, creating their own tale.
